Challenge: I was commissioned to create a tour poster for comedians Dave Williamson and Forrest Shaw, for their podcast "The Mermen."
Insight: The request was a poster that included a likeness of both comedians as mermen, with Forrest riding a manatee and Dave holding a trident with a steak on the end of it.
Solution: I created two different sized versions of the poster using Illustrator first to create the characters and then combining it with the background and copy in Photoshop.

Process
Mood Board
I created a mood board based on the clients request. The client wanted the poster to be slightly cheesy/ funny, and mentioned some of Bert Kreischer's tour posters as inspiration. I pulled some of those posters and and some images of mermen that gave off the vibes that would carry the poster.
Character Process
Initial sketches of the mermen characters were done on Illustrator, then they were brought into photoshop to add a background and copy.
